About the Opportunity

The Operational Transformation Practice of our client complements the service offerings across the rest of the Corporate Finance department. They tend to focus on operational issues which are business-critical for their clients and often revolve around an event such as a transaction. They serve corporate clients in all industries and/or private equity clients making investments in these areas. Their services include pre-deal operations due diligence, post-merger integration, restructuring and performance improvement including interim management. Their demanding customer base relies on small and senior teams who assume active roles and responsibilities as required for the successful implementation of the change programme.

Primary Duties

The successful candidate will participate in project teams, working with clients on the execution of various engagements and assist with ongoing business development activity. As such, key activities include:

  • Company financial analysis (knowledge of and experience in P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow assessment is preferred)
  • Operational analysis (e.g. OEE assessment, FTE benchmark)
  • Identification of upside/downside potentials
  • Improvement concept development and implementation support
  • Presentation writing
  • Private equity due diligence reports
  • Participation in client/internal meetings
  • Project- or sub-team lead
  • Networking with decision-makers in corporate business and ideally private equity. Has achieved initial success in project acquisition. Target acquisition volume >EUR 0.5m per annum.

Basic Qualifications

  • University degree with a minimum 2. (preferably in a numerical degree), or equivalent
  • Strong industry expertise in at least two sectors e.g. in automotive, industrial goods, consumer products, chemicals, High-tech, etc.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in consulting or industry with, ideally, exposure to and management of complex projects/programs
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in selected fields from the following focus areas:
    • Strategic Sourcing/Outsourcing
    • Lean/Operational Excellence
    • Production transfer/Carve-outs
    • Footprint analysis
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Service Operations / After Market
    • Turnaround/Performance Improvement Program, Project Management Office

Preferred Skills

  • Fluent English speaker and writer
  • Continental languages a bonus
  • Microsoft Office experienced
  • Strong Leadership
  • Communication skills with C-level clients
